The migrations we do every month

  • VMware migrations. Off VMware to Hyper-V, Azure, AWS or our private cloud, or between VMware versions and hosts. With licensing changes driving many businesses to reconsider VMware, this is one of our most requested projects. See our VMware alternatives guide.
  • Hyper-V migrations. To new Hyper-V hosts or clusters, or from Hyper-V to the cloud.
  • Physical to virtual (P2V). Old physical servers converted to virtual machines so they can be hosted, backed up and recovered like everything else. We also handle virtual to physical when an application requires it.
  • New server migrations. Roles, shares, permissions and applications moved to new hardware or a hosted server with no lost data.
  • On-premises to cloud. File servers to SharePoint or Azure Files, application servers to hosted or public cloud.
  • Email migrations. On-premises Exchange, Google Workspace (G Suite), IMAP and tenant-to-tenant moves to Microsoft 365, or the reverse.

How a migration runs

Every project follows the same steps: discovery of what's actually there, a written plan with timings, a pilot migration, user communication, a cutover window agreed with you, and a rollback plan if anything doesn't look right. After go-live we stay on hand while your team settles in.

Fixed-price where possible

Once we've done discovery, most migrations are quoted as a fixed project price so you know the cost before work starts.

Migration Services FAQ

How long does a server migration take?

Small projects take a few days of work spread over a couple of weeks. Larger environments are phased. Discovery tells us exactly, and the timeline is in the written plan.

Will there be downtime?

Usually only a short cutover window, scheduled out of hours. Data is synchronized in advance so the final switch is quick.

Can you move us off VMware?

Yes. We migrate VMware virtual machines to Hyper-V, Azure, AWS or our private cloud, depending on cost and what your applications need.

Can you migrate from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365?

Yes, including mail, calendars, contacts and Drive files, with users switched over in a planned window.
